Landfill tax
The amount of waste sent to landfill is taxed per tonne.
This traditional way of managing waste is becoming more expensive. The cost of landfill is rising and the amount of landfill space available is running out.
This creates more emphasis on the alternative methods of waste management - waste reduction, minimisation, reuse and recycling.
